The internal assistant launched on a Tuesday. The only instruction on the screen was a blinking cursor and the words ask anything. By Friday the people who already lived in ChatGPT were fast. Everyone else had opened it once, typed something vague, gotten something vague back, and gone back to email.
Leadership read that as adoption resistance. It was an unlabeled door.
name the three jobs
A tool for a team should say, on the first screen, the three jobs it is meant to do here. Not in the company. Here. Draft the customer update from these fields. Summarize this ticket before you escalate it. Turn this meeting note into the decision and the owner.
Examples should come from last week's real work, not from a marketing template about poems. If the example is not something this team recognizes, it is decoration.
Flexibility that does not teach is just an empty room.
the fluent people were already fine
A blank prompt selects for people who arrived with a prompt library. That is a fine product for them. It is a bad rollout for a company. The first ten minutes have to work for someone who is competent at the job and new to the tool.
Narrow the door. You can widen it after people trust what is on the other side.
